AMATEUR HIGH-FREQUENCY GULF COAST HURRICANE NETS

2005 Hurricane Frequencies By Hugh Stegman NV6H (Last Update 6 Sep 05)

MAJOR REVISION Please delete older copies of this list!

KATRINA FREQUENCIES ADDED AS HEARD. ALL IN SCREAMING CAPS!

WLO TOOK DAMAGE IN KATRINA, BUT IS MOVING SOME TRAFFIC. SLIDELL RADIO (NOW A GLOBE NODE) BADLY DAMAGED AND DOWN AT LAST WRITING.

REST OF COTHEN FREQUENCIES ADDED

9/6 Fax frequencies now reflect the June 15 changes, plus the undocumented shift of Honolulu to 11501.9 kHz. The link to NOAA's world radiofax schedule is working again: http://www.nws.noaa.gov/om/marine/rfax.pdf

US Air Force MARS has made some slight changes. If 13927 now sounds like it isn't tuned in, it's because they're using 13927.1.

WLO/KLB change their weather skeds too frequently for a document such as this one to keep up. It's better to go to their web site: http://www.wloradio.com/Frequencies.htm . Listen on the top of the hour for Gulf weather and traffic lists.

Amateur nets move around. Just tune the band for anyone obviously using procedures. 20 meters above 14100 is prime hunting territory in day time, and 75 meter USB is common at night.
